Rev. Fr. Michael Schumacher

Archdiocese of Edmonton

Biography

During his undergraduate years and shortly afterwards Fr. Michael began to discern a call to the diocesan priesthood. Following his post-secondary graduation in 2003 and in order to help assist his discernment of a religious vocation he attended a small Catholic Bible School in rural Alberta. It was during this year that Fr. Michael decided to enter the seminary and discern a vocation to the diocesan priesthood. Now a priest of the Archdiocese of Edmonton, Fr. Michael was ordained on March 19, 2010 on the Feast of St. Joseph the Husband of Mary. After recently obtaining a Licentiate in Moral Theology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Fr. Michael has begun working as a member of the formation team of St. Joseph Seminary.
