Two seminarians to be ordained to transitional diaconate

  • 11 June 2019

We are pleased to announce that two men who are studying for the diocesan priesthood at St. Joseph Seminary will be ordained as transitional deacons by Archbishop Richard Smith this summer.

The transitional diaconate is the last phase of formation for a seminarian. As an ordained deacon, he can baptize, witness marriages, preside at funeral services outside of Mass, and preach the homily at Mass.

Curtis Berube and JD Carmichael are both avid outdoorsmen, and both have spent the last year in parishes on pastoral internship.
